Sea Glass

Collection of Sea Glass art pieces.

Sea glass are naturally weathered pieces of the anthropogenic glass fragments of typically drinkwares, which often have the appearance of tumbled stones. Sea glass is physically polished and chemically weathered glass found on beaches along bodies of salt water.

Sea glass begins as normal shards of broken glass that are then persistently tumbled and ground until the sharp edges are smoothed and rounded. In this process, the glass loses its slick surface but gains a frosted appearance over many years.

Unlike manmade objects, the uniqueness of sea glass is shaped by thousands of cycles of ocean currents. This media inspires me to explore the deep connection between life and nature.

To create this collage, I collected sea glass from the beach, letting imagination and creativity guide me in showcasing the story behind each unique shape. I later arranged the pieces into a theme, incorporating elements from various sites to craft a narrative that bridges life and the passage of time.

The resulting collage captures the storytelling potential of nature and time, distilling the vastness of the ocean into a small but meaningful piece of art.
